reflected in this dataset.
This dataset is a shapefile. There is no topology.
This dataset only includes trails which are off-road, at least 1/2 mile in length, and open (or planned to be open)
to the public. It only includes trails of which the IDNR is aware and has collected information.

Trail locations were added using a variety of sources: digitized from paper USGS 1:24000 quad maps or aerial
photos on which the trails were hand drawn by their managing entities, GPS data collectors, or GIS data provided
by the managing entity. Changes to trail locations made since data were acquired will not be correctly reflected
in this database.

Personnel of the Indiana Geological Survey (IGS) received the shapefile titled INTRAILS from Michael P. Martin (IDNR, DOR)
on March 12, 2002.
INTRAILS is a PolyLineM shapefile, in UTM zone 16, NAD83 coordinates. INTRAILS was converted to a temporary ESRI ArcInfo
coverage, TEST_TRAIL, paying careful attention to preserve the route topology (IGS personnel created the named feature class
"route.segment" for future use.) TEST_TRAIL was then clipped using the IGS ESRI ArcInfo coverage for the state boundary,
INCLP83 (which contains the area within the 92 county boundaries for the state of Indiana, which was compiled at a scale
of 1:24,000) using ESRI ArcInfo (v 8.1). The resultant line coverage, T_TRAIL_CLP, was then converted to a shapefile
named TRAILS_IDNR_IN, using ArcGIS ArcToolbox (v 8.1) (Wizard commands: Export from Coverage > Coverage to Shapefile > using
the feature class "route.segment.")

workmanship for ninety (90) days from the date of acquisition. If such a
defect is found, return the media to Publication Sales, Indiana Geological
Survey, 611 North Walnut Grove, Bloomington, Indiana 47405 2208, and it
will be replaced free of charge.
